Friendly Society launches new product - Waqfy Cash Pan

The “Waqfy Cash Pan”, a new Waqf (Islamic endowment) product was launched at a dinner held on Friday evening at the Islamic Centre, Kelly Village to welcome Imam, Scholar, Banker and Author Dr.Yahia Abdul Rahman who is on a 3-day visit to this country.

Manwar Ali leads Takaaful T&T Friendly Society

Manwar Ali was recently re-elected unopposed to lead the Board of Management (BOM) of Takaaful T&T Friendly Society for another year. Br. Manwar is the seventh person to serve as President with the first six being Imtiaz B. Ali, Khamal Khan, Sheriff Faizool, Aman Hosein, Aziz Mohammed and Fareed Ali consecutively.

Friendly Society Gives Money to Mosques

"This is just the beginning," said Manwar Ali, President of Takaaful T&T Friendly Society at the cheque presentation function held on February 26th at the offices of the Society in Valsayn. While the Society launched its General Purpose Islamic Endowment (Waqf) Fund in 2004, it was only in 2013 it began accepting endowments for mosques.

Minister praises Friendly Society on Agribusiness project

“Despite the current economic challenges, I have observed from your Reports that there was an increase in your membership by 197 persons in 2016, the largest increase in an annual membership of the Society in history. This my brothers and sisters not only represents growth and success for your Society, but attests to the outward approach that Takaaful Friendly Society has adopted to achieve it objectives to stay ahead of other financial institutions.” These were the words of encouragement by Senator the Honourable Jennifer Baptiste-Primus speaking at the Takaaful’ s 19^th AGM held at the Amphitheatre of the Bureau of Standards, Macoya Industrial Estate on Sunday, April 23^rd last.

Takaaful T&T at 1900 and counting

"Takaaful T&T Friendly Society has had a humble beginning, and it is a pleasure to see continuous growth throughout the years." This was the recount made by President Manwar Ali at the welcoming dinner of the 1900^th member Sister Salima Mohammed, at Takaaful's office in Valsayn on the 5^thJanuary.
